WIDN and Adventures

Afternoon everyone, how are we all today?

Today I will be going over to York to help Mr. B's family move into their new house so I won't be able to post for a couple of days.  In the meantime, I have got a new project to take with me in the car, which is my Autumn Scarf, I've already completed one square, well nearly - I just need to do a a couple of rounds in white for a nice thick border.

Now I'm not a religious person, but the buildings amaze and fascinate me!
They're just so beautiful!

Mr. B drove us to Wentworth Church today where we went on a lovely little walk, got some lovely pictures, I know I've already mentioned it but I just love Autumn so much! It's just great, though I'm still waiting for all the leaves to fall so I can crunch them with my Doc's. Just got to wait a little bit longer ;)

Just look at all those leaves, waiting to dry up and to be crunched!! Eee so excited!

It wasn't much of a walk, but it had some nice scenery, with a lovely long path and the colours we're beautiful. We then ended up going to Wentworth antiques where he proceeded to show me something new that they had in store - a whole wall of Stylecraft yarns! It took every inch of me not to go mad and just buy a load of them! I wanted to so much, but I didn't really need them.

So here's a better picture as promised of the traditional Granny square for the Autumn scarf, I just love these colours so much, they blend so much and remind Jess and I of the lovely leaves, just what I was looking for and wanted!

I am currently in working mode and creating 44 first rounds in Gold, I did think today that I could make a Gryffindor scarf out of the Gold and Claret as they are pretty much bang on in colours - for when I go to the Harry Potter Studios next month with Mr. B! He don't really like Harry Potter that much so thought I could always create him a Slytherin one ;)

For now though, I think Mr. B and his dad are getting the car ready so I must dash off as I still have a couple of things that need to go in the car. I will keep you all posed on Instagram and on Facebook!

You can find me by searching -
Little, squidgy and cute on both and it's the one with the picture of thee balls of Stylecraft yarn!
I'll be waiting for you all to join me!

I just loved this picture of Mr. B's old Triumph Toledo, with the green trees and  the autumn leave son the floor! Added to the old look, don't you think?

Be back soon
Have a great weekend everyone!

A New Leaf

Evening everyone, how are we all?

Don't you just love October? I know I do, the smell of rain, digging all the woollies out to keep you warm, hot chocolate (with Bailey's if you're offering) Craft fairs, chestnuts, bonfires, toffee apples, the colours, crunching leaves and lovely chilly (but wrapped up) walks in the woods.

How I do love Autumn!

September has been and gone and what a lovely month it was, if you can account for me leaving my new job as wonderful - which I do! As there we're some major issues and I just couldn't stay and I'm a lot happier. Some people may think that I have made things worse for myself, but I have to do what makes me happy, not what makes other people happy!

The month was filled with my 21st, my cousins 16th, plenty of walks with Mr. B, Crochet catch up with Jess and lots of soups and sunsets, it was beautiful and I now can't wait for the remaining months of the year!

I recently went to the local yarn shop and got myself some goodies with my birthday money (only the bottom three are for me! the top are for an outstanding order)

I love the little yarn shop, it is such a gem and the women who run it are ever so lovely and welcoming. I could spend hours in there, so could mum and Jess for that matter!
On to the yarns shall we?
So from top to bottom - Left to right, we have...

Mint - Patons Fab DK
White - Hayfield Bonus DK
Gold - Stylecraft Special DK
Copper - Stylecraft Special DK
Claret - Stylecraft Special DK

Such lovely Autumn colours aren't they? I'm in the process of making myself a scarf, hoping that I can get some use out of it before Christmas haha I know I start to late! I need to get cracking, but I've been so busy with other order for people that I just haven't had time to make anything for myself.

The Patons Mint - I adore, it's so nice to work with and is so soft and squidgy. Although I have already bought some Stylecraft Special, I haven't yet used it so I was quite excited to start using the Autumn shades straight away! What with all the rave.

Bit dark I know! Will post another one soon!

Anyway - I thought that the yarn was very, very soft and smooth to start with, it feels lovely and is quite a gem to work with. However I am used to yarns a little, how to put it, less slippy? I do love it and I will use it again for sure, but at the moment I still love my Patons Fab just a bit too much, but that's just me! Non the less, I just LOVE these colours for the Autumn scarf, just can't get enough!

Mr. B and I are off to York tomorrow to help out his eldest brother move house, they're expecting next month and I am ever so excited! Probably a little too excited! I just want to crochet so many things for them but I must try and back off a little haha I'm sure Jenny will want to make some stuff too! Ooh I just can't wait!

I had snuggles earlier with that little cutie, he didn't used to be, he's calmed down a lot since he's got older ;) Love him though! Little Biscuit!

I'm starting to get into the October spirit now, I do love Halloween it's just my favourite time ever! Although I am quite sad as I've lost my Halloween Tree by Ray Bradbury, one of my all time favourite authors and I just can't find it anywhere! It's such a great read and was really looking forward to be reading it again this Autumn! I shall just have to find another one somewhere.

Toffee apple's and this new book (I have had it on my shelf for about 3-4 years and only just picked it up! Doing the Off the Shelf challenge this year with Goodreads!) And it is quite good, I'm not usually that keen on Crime books but, since Mr. B bought me that one for my Birthday last year I am starting to get into them. Needed something remotely Halloween-ish to read! I like to go by the theme of the months!

In other news, the other blanket is coming along nicely and should hopefully be ready!
I have got 60 / 100 Squares so far and only need to do 20 more of each colour - though I had to go out and buy another Mint and I'm starting to think I'm going to have to do the same for the Lemon. Damn, don't think I'll get 20 with what I have left but we'll soon see!
For now though, I must crack on with some more squares!

Much love as always,

Happy Crafting!

What a Gloomy Evening!

Evening everyone!

How are we all doing? Up to much?

The weather was so lovely this morning down in South Yorkshire today, it was sunny and bright and I even got sent home from work early! Which was good as I've got quite a bit of crochet done, woo!
Though it is rubbish in some ways as I won't get paid much for today, but it's not the end of the world!

But yeah, it was lovely and sunny, though it was really humid which can only mean one thing over here in the UK. Thunderstorm and  my god it has thrown it down! It's stopped for now but it has been coming and going and also thundering and lightening! I do love listening to the rain though, it's so peaceful.

As I said, I have been able to get up to speed with some of the crochet for this blanket of my mums :)
It's been nice, she was at home today so we sat watching The Boxtrolls - We still like watching Disney films regardless of our ages, who doesn't love a good Disney film? :)

Mum sat and did some of her Knitting and catching up with all the baby jumpers she's doing and I've been sat catching up with blankets and her's too! Though I could only go unto the 2nd round as I don't want her to see what colours I'm doing! Here was the before shot of all the 1st rounds I made!

And here's all the 2nd rounds! I finally feel like I'm catching up with it all and I'm quite positive that I may get it all finished or at least a couple of days late for her birthday! It's better than a month late though! Granted they all need darning. I will hopefully be getting them all to round 3 this afternoon.

I'm back at work tomorrow which is rubbish, only because it's a weekend haha but I don't mind I get to see Mr. B tomorrow as well so I'm excited about that too! Don't you think flowers looks just as beautiful with raindrops on them?

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend and thinking of me when you're all having fun ;)
Will update soon!

Happy Crocheting!

Much love as always,

Learning The Puff Stitch

Hey everyone!

Hope we're all okay?

I've had a good day, work has been good but now I'm getting tired, I just want to curl up in to a ball and do some crocheting.

I recently learnt a new Granny Square pattern, with thanks to Bella Coco, her videos are amazing and so much help! I just love this pattern and the colours that I have used for the squares!

Although I am not new to crocheting, I am new however, to some stitches. Such as the Puff Stitch, which has now become one of my favourites and it just looks so pretty!

I thought it would of taken me longer to figure out the stitch but it wasn't that hard, it was a bit complicated at first because I couldn't get the hook to go through all 7 loops, but then on the next Puff Stitch square, I crocheted them a little baggy and the hook went straight through like a dream!

I am currently making 7 blankets and this is one of them, it's for my mum who's birthday is this month on the 29th, so I've got to get cracking with it!

So far I have done about six squares, I still have a long way to go and I'm hoping I can get it finished in time, but I'm starting to learn and remember the patterns quickly.

I have found that the quickest way for me to get through them personally, and to get more done is to do them as a group. So with the above photo for example, I would crochet loads of 'part squares' up to The Puff Stitch stage, then I would carry on and do the next round...

As above, and then I would do the final stage. This way I get to learn the pattern quicker by continuously doing the same stitch over and over, instead of changing stitches and colours all the time. And I also get the squares done quicker too.

So, I'm getting there quite quickly, or I would hope I am haha I'm currently trying to find some other patterns for the other blankets I'm doing, well I only need one for another blanket, but I'll find one soon enough. If anyone out there has any patterns, please let me know! :)

I love the colours of the squares, they just seem to go together really well and look nice and summery.

Just a quick post to say where I am at the moment, will post some more later and tomorrow as I've got to get cracking with these squares! ;)

Till next time!

New Goodies!

Hello everyone!!

A couple of days ago, my dad came home from work with a glorious parcel for me...

Behold! A lovely, pink Love Knitting parcel, I must say, the ordering and delivery service was brilliant, one of the best companies I have ordered from, probably on the same par as Cake Stuff, they both sure know how to get something to you and fast!

In this lovely parcel, contained 6 lovely colours of yarn, perfect for a new project that I will be starting soon! You all remember when I mentioned about making blankets? Or have I not mentioned it it yet? If not, I will be making 6 blankets all for various people, for various reasons, this wool is for one of those said blankets!

And here we have it! I haven't used any of them yet so I'm yet to see what they are like to work with!

Brand: James C. Brett - Top Value
Colours from Top Left to Bottom Right: ( I tried looking for the colours but they only come up with the numbers! Even on their site! So I'll describe them to you!)

Lime Green, Dusty Grey, Royalish Purple, Cream, Dark Brown and a Light Pink.

These will all be used for a blanket which I hope to start soon, my fingers are itching to get started on it, but I need to finished this one I'm doing at the moment for next month!

You might be able to see the colours better in this picture but still not very good! Once I have done a square, I shall keep you all up to date with what is happening with all the blankets and my progress, and you should be able to see the colours a little better!

Will post later!

Happy Crafting!

Much love,

Emma
